How a Call Is Routed

How a call is routed, how we are paid, and what we will not do. Routing is on coverage, not on any ranking or quality score.

Call (866) 838-2750

Free to homeowners in How We Work — the contractor pays us for the introduction, you never do.

The short answer

Take the pressure reading yourself before telephoning anybody: a gauge that screws onto an outside tap costs a few dollars and produces the number every later conversation depends on. The call after that is free to the household, because the contractor who takes it is the one who pays.

What this site is

PressureTrace is a referral service, not a plumbing contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We do not perform plumbing work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

You call the number and tell us your ZIP code and what is happening. We check it against partner coverage and connect you to an independent contractor working that area. If nobody covers your ZIP, we say so immediately.

How routing is decided

On coverage and partner bids — not on any quality ranking. We do not rank, score or review contractors, and we publish no ratings, because we are not in a position to assess anyone's work.

What we will not do

  • We do not charge homeowners.
  • We do not perform plumbing work.
  • We do not promise a particular contractor, price or arrival time.

Still not sure whether it is the whole house or one fixture? That distinction decides who you need and what it costs, and it takes one conversation. We route you to a contractor who covers your ZIP code, you are never charged, and if the answer turns out to be an aerator we will say so. And it need not be pressure — this number takes any plumbing problem.
